HOT TIP For The Week To Improve Your Business
How has business been for you? Are you following up after each closing to get feedback and make sure you did a great job and if not, that you can learn and do better next time? You should be!
I am taking some real estate coaching and one thing that I've heard before, but never started doing was post closing surveys. Literally took me 10 minutes to create one for free on www.SurveyMonkey.com and then send it out to all
of my recently closed sellers. It's 10 questions that could make you do a much better job in the future, provide you with testimonials for your website and give you more ammo to bring on your listing appointments. If you do a great job, what better way to get proof of that than in black and white writing that you can use on your marketing materials?
If any of you are currently doing post closing surveys, what site are you using for them and how do you like it? What kind of questions do you put on your survey? Here's a sample of mine:
Would you feel comfortable referring me to a friend or family member?
What would you rate our services? (1-10 or give multiple choice answers like poor, good, excellent)
Could you please provide me with a short testimonial that we could put on our website?
Try it out and see how it works for you. Once it's setup the first time, it will be much easier to send out to future closed clients. Good luck!

What are some of the comments and testimonials you have received? Feedback is helpful to grow and improve and also celebrate our victories. Thanks for the post.
Kathleen, very nice post and good suggestion. We need to start being better at post closings.
Kathleen, this is a great idea. It also makes it easy for clients to process and a good way to get testimonals. Thanks for the tip.
I just started doing these this week after my Tuesday coaching calls. Sent them out to 6 recently closed sellers and got 1 email back so far letting me know one of the buttons wasn't working correctly (my fault). I went on and fixed it and sent it back out this morning. Waiting to get them back now. When I do, I plan on sending a thank you card with a $10 Starbucks gift card thanking them for taking the time to give me the feedback.
After the closing, stay in touch! Don't let another agent steal your referrals and past clients. :)
I love this! I just made mine and will be sending it out in the morning.
Thanks for another great tip Kathleen!
Great tip Kathleen! You are a wealth of information! :)
Getting that feedback is going to helpful even if you don't like what they have to say. That website is going to be very helpful.
Kathleen, can you please post the 10 questions you ask?
Excellent suggestion! I've wanted to do something similar for years. Would you mind sharing the 10 questions you ask your clients?
** Also, I love the facebook and twitter icons -- very cute!
I have been meaning to do surveys, thank you for the reminder, and tip on the website!
great post
thanks for the reminder
the easiest sale is always done by a trusted third party endorsement
I have only had my real estate license for one week now, but I assure you I will follow up - all the best to you.
I have been sending out "Client Service Evaluations" for a long time and LOVE using them in my buyer/listing presentations. I ask questions like:
Please comment on the level of my service:
Was there anything particularly notable, good or bad, about the transaction that you would like to bring to my attention:
Would you work with me again?
Do you have any suggestions on how I may improve my services?
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY...... May I use your comments in future advertising or public relations efforts?
You really need to ask for permission if you plan to publish the eval w/their name.
Instant testimonials or instructions on how you can improve. Brilliant.
Hi Kathleen,
We use a pretty similar system in our brokerage except that we only ask 3 questions:
Our survey methodology is based on "The Ultimate Question" by Fred Reichfeld and we figured asking fewer questions would be more likely to get more responses. Then we go through afterwards and "tag" the comments to understand what we did well and where we can improve.
One thing we've debated is whether to survey folks we meet but who don't work with us - you're more likely to learn from people who go elsewhere than from the people who close with you. Our decision was to survey everyone who signed an agency agreement with us, whether they close or not.
Great post!
Thanks, Kathleen, great idea!
Excellent suggestion, Kathleen.
This is much different than, "Can you write me a referral letter?" or "Please recommend me to your friends."
I like it, and will give this more thought.
What a fabulous idea - thanks for sharing!
Awesome awesome! I saw a few ads for surveymonkey but never got around to it. This will make me get around to it. Thanks!
Great idea about doing this. Love the idea of doing it online, You will probably get more responses that way.
Hi Everyone!
Thanks for all of the great comments and interaction! My 10 questions vary depending on the group I'm sending them to. I setup a different one for my closed buyers and closed sellers. I ask how they felt the people I referred to them from my professional team of attorneys, home inspectors, mortgage professionals, etc did as well so I can keep tabs on how my clients are being treated.
I ask right on the survey for them to write a small testimonial that I can publish on my marketing materials and/or websites.
Sincerely,
Kathleen
Great tip , thanks for getting this post out to us today.

A couple of questions I ask are: How would you grade our services? If we didn't get an A+ what can we do to improve?
Great Idea!
the tips hot... you got it.. whatever it takes to get the job done... have to be willing to get a little kick in the teeth every once in a while. http://realtordreams.com/about/ocala-real-estate/
This is brilliant! Thanks so much for the great tip! Why didn't I think of that....
Hello Kathleen and you have been coming up with some great posts, keep it up young lady and congrats on the feature!
VB ;)
Great idea. I don't use survey monkey, but I do ask each one who has closed with us if they would write a quick testimonial. Most do and I use them in our marketing.
Kathleen,
Thank you. Another great tip to use for my kit.
I like the idea of Survey Monkey. I've done email surveys. I've also done video testimonials with clients.
Thank you for the great tip. I will check out survey monkey. One extra step might just make the difference.
