100 DAYS OF CENTRAL MASS FEATURES THE QUABBIN RESERVOIR

Located in Belchertown is the Quabbin Reservoir, one of the largest man made water sources in the United States. Filled, it holds 412 billion gallons of water and is fed by 3 branches of the Swift River and seasonally by the Ware River. They have a lookout tower, multiple picnic areas and fields to play in and some great places to view the reservoir. We take the kids up there to fly kites and have a picnic a few times each year. It is beautiful in the Fall, the foliage is spectacular and you will often time see a lot of wildlife such as deer around the park. There is plenty of parking. Lots of people visit the Quabbin, but it's never too crowded. If you're close to the area, visit the Quabbin Visitor Center located at 485 Ware Road (Route 9) in Belchertown, MA.
