Sleepless in Sturbridge: New Hampshire

Speechless Sunday - View From Our Trip Up Mt. Washington

On Top of Mt. Washington

This photo was taken this past week at Mt. Washington in New Hampshire.  We took a family trip to North Conway to take the kids to Story Land.  Mt. Washington has always been one of my favorite sight seeing places to visit.  One day I hope to take the train up the Mountain, but my 4 year old wanted nothing to do with that this time!

If you are looking to buy real estate in the White Mountains region, check out my friend Steve Loynd's White Mountain Blog.  He's a local expert in the area and knows just where you want to be.

Breathe New Hampshire Fun Pass - Discounts on Family Attractions in New England

Breathe New Hampshire Fun Pass - Discounts on Family Attractions in New England

The other day I was searching for discounted Story Land tickets online and came across a website selling Fun Passes for 2010.  The Breathe New Hampshire website shows a sampling of the discounts and savings you will benefit from if you purchase one of these books for $25.  I immediately ordered 2 of them because most passes were buy one adult
ticket to a park or attraction and get one child ticket for free.  StoryLand costs $26.99 per person to get in, but with this $25 booklet, one of my kids will get in free and there are tons more coupons to use.  I ordered a book for myself and one for James.  Wish I had known about this book at the beginning of the season!

The Breathe New Hampshire Fun Pass is good for places all over New England including some of my favorites like Southwick's Zoo, Davis' Farmland, Davis' Mega Maze, Boston Duck Tours, Story Land, Mt. Washington Auto Road and more!  Although we didn't get to enjoy the benefits all summer long, these books will still more than pay for themselves in our last few weeks of summer vacation before school starts back up again.  Can't wait to purchase my 2011 book for next year!

BEST PLACE TO RENT JET SKIS ON LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE NEW HAMPSHIRE

BEST PLACE TO RENT JET SKIS ON LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE NEW HAMPSHIRE

This weekend James and I took a little getaway trip to Maine to celebrate our anniversary that passed a few weeks ago.  On our last day we decided to drive up to Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire to rent some jet skis on the lake.  After doing a Google search, we found Wolfeboro Jet Ski Rentals to be the best priced and friendliest service around.  They let us make some reservations and had 2 jet skis in great condition ready for us when we arrived.

We had to read the boating laws booklet and pass a boating exam to get our 14 day licenses to operate on the lake.  This took us about 30-45 minutes to do and then we were out on the lake cruising the open water.  Normally they rent for 1 hour, 2 hours, a half day (4 hours) or a full day, but they were nice enough to make us a 3 hour package since we needed to drive back home in the late afternoon.

The sun was shining and the lake was warm.  It couldn't have been a more beautiful day to rent jet skis and be on the lake.  Lake Winnipesaukee is huge.  It is the 3rd largest lake in New England covering 72 square miles.  It has 182 miles of shoreline and features 253 islands.  44,586 acres, you can explore Lake Winnipesaukee for hours and never see the same spot twice.

Check it out next time you're in the area and if you need a great place to rent jet skis from, call Wolfeboro Jet Ski Rentals for the friendliest service around.

Day 12: 100 Days of Central Mass Features White Mountains, NH

Take a drive a couple of hours north of Central Mass you will find an incredible place to visit - The White Mountains in New Hampshire.  A year round vacation spot for outdoor enthusiasts you will enjoy skiing in the winter, swimming, hiking and shopping in the summer and a very kid friendly place to vacation.  We try to visit in the middle to end of August when the weather is warm.  Last year we stayed at the North Conway Grand Hotel where we enjoyed indoor and outdoor pools, free full buffet breakfasts for children and outlet shopping just steps away.  We visited Mount Washington - home to the world's worst weather!  Currently it is 45.8 degrees on the mountain with 20 MPH winds.  It is amazing up there, I absolutely love it every time we go.  Another great place we like to take the kids is Story Land theme park.  A great family park with rides and shows for all age groups.  Don't forget to visit Clark's Trading Post to enjoy the famous Clark's Trained Bear Show, train rides, kiddie rides and a playground.   Here are some memorable photos from our trip last year with the James, the boys and Hailey Grace in the belly at 8 months pregnant - Enjoy!
