Providence is the most populated city in Rhode Island and goes back and forth from being the 2nd or 3rd largest city in New England.  Providence is one of the first cities established in the United States.  It is ranked 36th in the country for largest metropolitan population.

The city of Providence, RI is only a short 45-60 minute ride from Central Massachusetts.  Providence is home to many major companies such as the GTECH world headquarters, Textron, Nortek Incorporated and the headquarters for Citizen's Bank.  Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University are the largest Providence employers.  Providence covers a span of 20.5 square miles and makes a great place to live and work.

 100 DAYS OF CENTRAL MASS FEATURES WORCESTER - CITIES TO WORK IN

Worcester, MA is located in Central Mass and is known as the "Heart of the Commonwealth".  It is the second largest city in New England.  Bordering towns that commuters often live in are Auburn, Paxton, Millbury, Grafton, Holden, Leicester, West Boylston and Shrewsbury.  Worcester covers an area of 38.6 square miles and is just 40 miles from Boston.

Boston is the capital of Massachusetts and considered the unofficial capital of New England.  Boston is the cultural and economic center of the region.  It is also the largest city in New England.  Boston is a great place to work and an easy commute from anywhere in Central Mass.

 100 DAYS OF CENTRAL MASS FEATURES HARTFORD - CITIES TO WORK IN

Day 87, can you believe it?  We are almost to the end of our 100 Days of Central Mass series...time to start thinking of some new topics.  The next few posts will feature all of the major cities that are close to Central Mass, a great commuter location.

Harford, CT is the capital city of Connecticut and a place that many of our locals commute to for work.  Hartford is the "Insurance Capital of the World" housing most of the world's insurance company headquarters.  Located on the Connecticut River, Hartford covers an area of 18 square miles, 17.3 that are on land and 0.7 that covers water.  Hartford is amongst the oldest cities, close to 400 years old.  A charming New England city and a great place to work.
