Best Beaches To Visit When Traveling From Central Massachusetts
It's that time of year again! It's summertime where it's hot, Hot, HOT! Living in Central Mass has it's perks. We are only an hour to an hour and a half away from some of the nicest beaches around. Where do you go for a day trip or a weekend getaway to see some waves? Here's a list of some of my favorite local beaches and for a more detailed search of beaches on Cape Cod, check out this great site with a map search setup to help you find the right one for your getaway!
- White Crest Beach - This is a beach located in Wellfleet down on Cape Cod. It's an ocean side beach off of Ocean Drive. Very clean, not very crowded. We usually see some people surfing out there. Great place to bring that special someone or your family for a private getaway.
Misquamicut Beach - One of my all time favorite beaches located in Westerly, Rhode Island. It's usually pretty crowded and lots going on. There are restaurants and bars up and down the beach as well as lots of places to stay. I used to go to this beach all of the time when I was in high school. The crowds vary in age because there's so much to do for everyone. Often times they have live music.- Hampton Beach - Located in New Hampshire close to the Massachusetts border, Hampton Beach is a great beach for the family. They are featuring over 80 summer concerts, fireworks weekly, amusement attractions, shops and lots of places to eat. Very clean and well kept, this is a very fun beach to visit. I highly suggest checking it out this summer.
- Ocean Beach Park - Located in New London, CT, Ocean Beach Park is a fine beach with sugar like sand and a nice boardwalk full of attractions. National Geographic rated Ocean Beach Park as one of the best beaches. That alone makes it worth a visit!
