Day 77: 100 Days of Central Mass Features Annie's Country Kitchen

100 DAYS OF CENTRAL MASS FEATURES ANNIE'S COUNTRY KITCHEN

We love this place so much that it made the list again!  Annie's Country Kitchen, across the street from our office, is one of our favorite hometown country restaurants.  Talk about A LOT of food for the money, this place has it all!  Country fried steak, banana cream pies, texas french toast & more!

Outdoors they have a nice area for children to play in the sand with toys and dump trucks.  Each day they feature a ton of specials and they are usually packed with customers.  The service is friendly and fast, you can't beat it in Sturbridge.

I lived much of my life in North Carolina and James is from Texas so a good country kitchen is hard to come by in New England, but this one can definitely run with the best of them.  If you're ever in the area, check it out!

Day 5: 100 Days of Central Mass Features Osaka

Okay, so I'm very hungry so this is going to be a tough post to write!  As soon as I get this knocked out of the way I've got to find some dinner!  It's a shame that my husband and I moved from Worcester to Brookfield because now we hardly ever get to eat at Osaka.  Osaka is a great Japanese restaurant located in White City Plaza in Shrewsbury just on the Worcester line.  Osaka unfortunately does not have a website to list =( but you can trust me, they are excellent!  When you dine in they will cook right in front of you on their hibachi grill which is a fun experience in itself.  The menu features sushi and Japanese cuisine with very large portions.  My favorites include (and it's killing me to list these on an empty stomach): chicken tempura, chicken teriyaki with fried rice and the soup and salad it comes with!  YUMMY!

Day 4: 100 Days of Central Mass Features Block 5

Today we are featuring a great bistro named Block Five Bistro Bar in Worcester.  I had the pleasure of dining here with my good friend Amy just after her birthday and it's delicious.  It's a different kind of place to hang and eat, perfect for a get together with old friends.  The food is described as American comfort food with a creative twist and all featured in a very stylish place.  I usually get the Steak and Frites and the B5 S'mores for dessert.  What are Frites?  They are only the BESTfries I've ever had!!!  They feature several different seasonings for these very unique french fries, my favorites are the cajun and the Parmesan seasonings.  Here is their menu, a lot to look at so I'd study it before I arrive!  You can enjoy mojitos by the pitcher and 3 course Food & Wine dinnerscreated specially from the chef.  Reservations are strongly recommended, this is the place to be on any weekend night!  Try it out and let me know what you think!

Day 3: 100 Days of Central Mass Features Thai Place

At the entrance of Old Sturbridge Village you will find a great little place to eat authentic Thai food called the Thai Place.  Yummy!  The waitstaff is very friendly and this is a great place to dine for a date night or a girl's night out on the town.  The atmosphere is casual and the food is delicious.  Open 7 days a week and offering a menuwith over 100 dishes to choose from, there is something for everyone.   My favorites include the Mini Thai Rolls, Chicken Satay and the Spicy Noodle.  Thai Place works hard on tailoring to everyone's tasting palate as well as on the food presentation.  Don't forget to try some of their beer imported from Thailand Singha, Singha light and Chang.  I have tons of fond memories dining at the Thai Place with my good friend Cindy after a long hard step aerobics class on a Wednesday or Thursday evening.  If you love Thai food, you must try this wonderful place!

Day 2: 100 Days of Central Mass Features Wild Willy's Burgers

Nothing beats a mouth watering Wild Willy's Burgers burger after a long day of showing houses!  We found out about this great place thanks to one of our clients - Kay Roberts.  Wild Willy's Burgers leaves McDonalds and Burger King in the dust!  These burgers are fresh, BIG and come in almost every flavor style you can think of.  Their "country fair" fries are hand made and super delicious!  Not a burger person?  That's okay!  They have awesome chicken sandwiches or chicken tenders.  Pair anything on their menu up with a huge frosty mug of root beer and you're golden!  Click here to checkout their menu, but BEWARE - it will make you hungry for some Wild Willy's Burgers!

The first Wild Willy's Burgers we ever went to was in Worcester, MA, but we found another location on our way to the White Mountains in New Hampshire last year and we had to stop.  Looking at their website you will find they have 6 locations throughout Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire, but it's still a great reason to be in Central Mass!
