Color Matters - Bring Style Into Your Blog
"It Is Not the Form That Dictates the Color, But the Color That Brings Out the Form" -Hans Hofmann
It's time to get creative in the rain! You've seen the posts with splashes of color and style and probably wondered how to do it yourself. I've been researching all kinds of ways to bring some color and fun to my blog on ActiveRain and wanted to share the 3 ways I've found to be the most simple:
1. The first way would be through Firefox and Scribefire. If you download Firefox for your web browser you can then download an add-on called Scribefire. This add-on works as a blog editor where you can write your posts they way you want them to look, copy the code and past it into the HTML section on ActiveRain to get the same look, color and all. You can also directly publish your blogs on blog platforms such as WordPress and Blogger from Scribefire.
2. This is the option I have been using a lot lately for my blog posts since I don't use Firefox for my browser - WordPress. If you have a free WordPress account, you can log-in and write blog posts on WordPress, click on get HTML, copy that and past it into ActiveRain. It's as simple as that. Occasionally it may change the style a little bit so I just save as a draft, go back in and edit it into WYSIWYG to look the way I want.
3. The third option is by using a little bit of code and a website to lookup the most comon color codes. When you're ready to change the color of a word or sentence, you're going to have to go to the HTML section and input this code:
<span style="font-size: 16px; color: #000066;">
Anything that appears after that code will show up in size 16 font and be the color blue since #000066 is code for a shade of blue. When you are done with the color and size change you simply add this code at the end to close it: </span>
